How to make চিকেন দোপিয়াজা/Chicken Dopeyaji / Chicken Dopiaza Recipe.


Chicken Dopiaza is one of the most tasty cuisines. Chicken Dopiaza which we are going to share is the most tasty recipe and it is a Bangladeshi Cuisine. This Chicken Dopeyaji / Chicken Dopiaza / চিকেন দোপিয়াজা  recipe is mainly came from Gopalgonj and faridpur, Bangladesh. Chicken Dopiaza is a more traditional Recipe for Faridpur people. It is Delicious & Easy to cook recipe.


Here is what you'll need to cook this Recipe !






Ingredients  Chicken Dopiaza :

  • Chicken  1 kg 
  • Coconut  Grated
  • Grated Coconut paste  300g
  • Onion Sliced 3/4 pieces 
  • Fresh jackfruit  seeds  & Potato  - 1/2 Cup
  • Turmeric powder 1 tablespoons 
  • Red chili powder 1 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste 
  • Cumin powder 1 tablespoon 
  • Garlic paste 1 Or 2 tsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Green chili sliced 3/4 pieces
  • Water 1/2 cups
  • Roasted cumin  powder 1 tablespoons  
  • Dry Garam  Masala:
  • Cloves  
  • Cardamom 
  • Bay Leaf 
  • Cinnamon

Steps to Make It

Gather the ingredients.

  • In a pan, heat oil and add chopped onions. Fry it for 3 - 4 minutes. When the onions are medium fried then pick it up.
  • Fry Dry Garam masala (cloves, Cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon) 1 min.
  • Add Turmeric powder 1 tsp, Red Chili Powder 2 tsp, Salt 1 tsp(to taste),Cumin powder/paste 1 tsp All masala mix well and continuously stirring.
  • Now add Chicken Pieces &  garlic and ginger paste. And add jackfruit seeds & Potato cube.        
  •  Add some green chili slice & onion slice then Sauté over high heat until it browns.
  • When All chicken and masala are mixed well then Add grated Coconut paste 300g & continue to sauté. Cook high flame for 5 - 10 minutes. Add half tsp salt if needed. 
  • Add  1/3 CUP water as required and mix well. Cover the pan for 2 mins.
  • Reduce heat and cook for another 20 minutes. Reduce all water from the Chicken Dopiaza.    
  • Close lid and let it cook for another 1minutes, occasionally stirring in between.  Check if Chicken is cooked well-through and then removed from heat.
