👇👇👇 Ingredients for Cholar dal with beef recipe :👇👇👇


- Beef head meat , curry cut pieces with bones-  1 kg

- Cholar dal (Chana Dal)  - 500 gm

- Cumin Paste- 3 tsp

- Onion slice- 2 medium onions (for Beresta) 

- 1 Onion , finely chopped (for gravy) 

- Ginger Paste- 2.5 tsp

- Garlic Paste- 2 tsp (around 10-12 cloves)

- Salt- 2 tsp or to taste

- Cooking oil- 1.5 cups(as your required)


Spice Powders:

- Turmeric Powder- 1.5 tsp 

- Red Chilli Powder- 1.5 tsp

- Roasted Cumin Powder- 1.5 tsp 


Garam masala :

- Bay leaves- 2 nos

- Cinnamon  pieces- 4 to 5 small sticks 

- Star anise- 1/2 (from 1 pcs)

- Black cardamom- 1 pcs

- Green cardamom- 4 pcs

- Cloves- 5 nos 

- Peppercorns- 1/2 tsp 

- Shahi jeera(black Cumin)- 1/4 tsp 


Preparation:

- Cholar dal (Chana Dal) 500 gm,firstly wash and soak the dal for 2 hrs

- Take 1 kg of beef head meat  ,wash and cut into small pieces with bones.

- Slice 2 medium sized onions and fry them until golden. Remove from oil & allow it to cool.   

- Also slice 1-2 small onions and set aside. 


How to cook bengali traditional dal gosht recipe - cholar dal with beef :


- To begin making the Daal Gosht recipe, first wash cholar dal and soak the dal for 2hrs. Wash the beef head meat and cut into small pieces with bones & drain out the excess water.

- Heat oil in a pan and add the Onion slice 

- Fry on medium heat for 6-7 mins till light brown in colour.Then spread beresta on a plate & keep it aside.

- Meanwhile in the same pan add  half cup onions and fry medium flame. 

add whole garam masala pieces & fry it 1  mins till the smell spreads .

- Add the ginger, garlic paste, cumin paste and fry for a minute, give a mix and continue to fry on medium heat for 4-5 mins till it’s cooked and oil separates.

 - Now add all the spice powders ( Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder) and salt. Give a mix and fry on low to medium heat for 3-4 mins till the spices are cooked and oil separates.

- add 10 to 12 pcs green chili & mix them with all ingridients.

- Now add beef head meat pieces, mix and sear on high heat for 2-3 mins. Continue to cook on medium heat for another 15 minutes till the beef is browned.

- After  10 - 15 mins later oil begins to leave the side of the Pan.

- Add the soaked cholar dal with meat mixture to this masala and mix well. Mix together for 5 minutes.

- Add 500 ml water, mix and cover & cook on low heat for around 45 - 50 mins till meat & scholar dal is tender.

- Add half Cup onion Beresta & roasted cumin when the Dal Gosht has perfectly  reached the bhuna  Stage. 

-Take off from the fire and garnish it with beresta or as your choice.


Serve Daal Gosht along with Tawa Paratha and Plain Polau for a weekday meal.
