Dal Puri Recipe

Dal Puri or Dalpuri is one of the popular snacks cuisines in Bangladesh. Not only Bangladesh but also it was famous among the undivided Bengal including Kolkata and Bihar, India from the colonization era by British. There are various kinds of recipes around Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. However, the most tasty recipe of Dal Puri or Dalpuri will be shown during this post. Traditionally, Dalpuri is a mandatory dish for every occasion and almost every day snacks for hospitality to guests in Bangladesh. Commonly, Gram Dal or Chana Dal or Cholar Dal and Maida used for Dal Puri Recipe. Here, we are going to learn a special recipe with Masoor Dal.



Ingredients for Dough:

  • Flour/Maida 1 ½ cups
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Cooking oil 2 tbsp.
  • Water  - 150 ml, room temperature


Ingredients For Dal filling:

  • Onion 2 tbsp, sliced
  • Garlic 1 tbsp, sliced
  • Masoor Dal 1 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Black Pepper ½ tsp
  • Chaat masala ½tsp
  • Chopped Coriander 2 tbsp, 
  • Chopped Green chili 3 pcs
  • Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Add oil for deep frying.
